Ah, brunch. Is there anything better than sleeping in on a lazy Saturday and then finding a mid-morning meal? We cant think of anything more crucial to the perfect weekend than one of West Seattle's best brunch spots. Why not give one of these delicious eateries a try this weekend?

Also, pandemic-era disclaimer: although Seattle restaurants technically allow indoor dining again, things are changing constantly. You may also find that menus have changed since this writing and not all items are available. Were all trying our best to keep up to speed in this challenging environment.

Easy Street Records and Café

Billing themselves as the best little record store, coffee bar, and diner in West Seattle, we agree with Easy Street Records and Café wholeheartedly. Whats not to love about a place that combines two of our very favorite things? Great music and tasty food come together at this perfect spot for your West Seattle weekend.

Pick out a record or two from their incredible collection (its honestly one of the best weve ever seen), then grab some takeout! (In non-pandemic times, its so fun to sit amongst the posters and album art on the walls while enjoying amazing music.) Try the Easy Street Breakfast Burrito or the Hank Williams Western Omelet for a delicious takeout meal to eat while youre listening to your new vinyl.

Luna Park Café

Luna Park Café is in a building that was constructed right after World War II as a neighborhood tavern, though its been many things since then. The café serves food and milkshakes in a traditional 1950s diner atmosphere, which makes it a fun and unique place for people to meet over grub and nostalgia.

Try the field roast with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, spinach, and feta piled on top of hash browns. Another favorite is the Elvis Waffle, complete with bananas and peanut butter. And their huge menu offers breakfast burritos, eggs any way you want them, sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, and more.

Circa

Right in the heart of West Seattles cool Admiral District, Circa has the best comfort food around in a warm, cozy, intimate setting. People rave about the staffs careful attention to the food and ability to serve up a consistently great meal every single time, even if its for takeout.

They serve Stumptown coffee and tasty lemonade mimosas—yum. Anyone looking for a seriously hearty breakfast will want to try their Creole Chicken-Fried Steak and Eggs. You also cant go wrong with their biscuits and gravy. But dont forget to leave room for a house-made beignet or two!

Saltys on Alki Beach

For a special-occasion brunch, there is no better place than Saltys. First, the sweeping views of the Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay cannot be topped. Second, the brunch is award-winning. Seriously, it’s so good that it wins awards. Its been voted the best Seattle Brunch year after year in local polls. Unfortunately, they are not currently serving this winning meal but have a different (but still delicious) morning menu and hope to start serving their famed brunch again soon.

Saltys morning fresh menu includes tasty breakfast sweets like cinnamon rolls brioche, cream cheese icing, and caramel sauce drizzle. Another winner is the blackened salmon Caesar warp, smoked and rolled up in romaine, house-made croutons, and other fixings with a side of beer-battered fries. Or, if youre feeling adventurous, go for the Korean fried chicken and waffles with sesame butter, a savory, sweet, homey maple syrup, and a dried orange on top. Now that will wake you and your taste buds up!

Allyum

Allyum is a brand-new West Seattle brunch spot and its menu features exclusively plant-based fare. Who knew fruits and vegetables could be so delicious? (True if youre vegan or not). This food is creative and layered with so much flavor, you carnivores out there wont even miss the meat and dairy.

Try their carrot lox (how do they make them taste like salmon?) benny on a house-made English muffin. The poached apple porridge with cinnamon and candied walnuts tastes just like fresh apple pie filling. Another fun option is their smoky maple ChknFried Mushroom & Waffle. Yes, fried mushrooms can absolutely taste like chicken. Wash it all down with a tasty Bloody Mary.

Endolyne Joes

Endolyne Joes has been a fixture in the Fauntleroy community since 2004. They offer rotating menus with American food, so you never know exactly what youre going to get—just that its going to be delicious. Theyve also stepped up to the plate with a generous pay what you can” program during the pandemic, which has earned them deep appreciation and some seriously loyal customers.

All of their breakfast sandwiches with caramelized onion or tomato jam are definite musts. They also have a delightful Cajun benedict with hams, eggs, and Tabasco hollandaise. This is the spot to stop for a quick, delicious breakfast (maybe on the way to the beach)!

Where to find it: 9261 45th Ave

High Strike Grill

How about a more casual brunch? One that's less, as they say, "bougie?" Because brunch inside a bowling alley at High Strike Grill is a whole lot of fun. And dont be fooled by the surroundings—the food is truly excellent, comes in huge portions, and comes with good service to boot. On the weekends, you even get a voucher for two free games with your meal.

Try the eggs benedict for some really excellent hollandaise sauce. Their French toast and any of their many egg scrambles are solid choices for filling up before hitting the lanes!

Where to find it: 4505 39th Ave SW

Mission Cantina

Mission Cantina serves authentic, from-scratch Mexican dishes and uses only local, fresh ingredients to make traditional recipes. They hold their weekend brunch on the patios and are well known for celebrating Mexicos rich culinary culture here in our Admiral District, just north of the historic Admiral Theater.

They have 16 (yes, 16!) delicious mimosa flavors, so thats definitely where you should start your order. If you prefer a non-alcoholic drink, try the café con leche. Then, check out the huevos rancheros with beans, fried eggs, cotija cheese, and cilantro. If you prefer a sandwich, try the huevos torta. The panqueues with whipped butter and syrup can be topped with caramelized plantains if you prefer. And they have a menu para los niños!

Where to find it: 2325 California Ave SW

Arthurs

Arthurs was founded by West Seattle-ite Rebecca Rice, a veteran of the restaurant and bar industry. You can see (and taste) her expertise in every aspect of Arthurs, located in the heart of the Admiral District. The space is beautifully decorated with plants, the food is super fresh, and the service is top-notch.

Try the ricotta pancake, large and fluffy, with a side of thick-cut bacon. The classic brekkie is also delicious with herbed potatoes, over-easy eggs, thick-cut bacon, and a slice of sourdough toast. They are also famous for their avocado smash and BLT benedict (the hollandaise is to die for).
